ABOUT US

The Sunshine Coast is one of Australia’s most sought-after places to live and visit – and it’s no surprise that so many members of the LGBTQIA+ community call it home or choose it as their favourite holiday destination.
Founded in 2008, the Sunshine Coast Pride Network exists to foster connection, support, and solidarity across our diverse community. We celebrate our shared identity while honouring the unique stories and experiences of every individual. Through events, advocacy, and community initiatives, we work to create spaces where everyone feels welcome, seen, and celebrated.
From 2008 to 2020, our passionate committee delivered the much-loved Sunshine Coast Pride Festival and a wide range of LGBTQIA+ events. While the COVID-19 pandemic temporarily paused many activities, our spirit remained strong. Since 2019, we’ve proudly supported future leaders by funding the LGBTIQA+ Leadership Bursary at the University of the Sunshine Coast, providing $1500 annually to empower and uplift emerging voices.
In 2025, we are reigniting the spark! A dynamic new Festival Working Group has come together to bring back the Sunshine Coast Pride Festival and Fair Day from 14–23 November. With expertise spanning community engagement, entertainment, and large-scale event management – and an unwavering passion for amplifying LGBTQIA+ voices – we’re here to ensure Pride on the Coast shines brighter than ever

I have a passion for bringing people together and creating supportive spaces. I’ve worked in community roles, volunteered with LGBTQ+ organisations, and contributed to the Brisbane Festival. Guided by values of equality and kindness, I strive to make a positive impact—whether through grassroots projects, major events, or simply lending a hand when it’s needed most.

I’m delighted to be part of the Sunshine Coast Pride Network and contribute to our vibrant community. With over 30 years in events and performing arts, I’ve worked on iconic Sydney events such as Mardi Gras, Sleaze Balls, and The Rocks Arts Festival. After moving to the Sunshine Coast, I helped establish the Horizon Festival with Council, watching it grow into a nationally recognised celebration of local and visiting artists—a highlight of my creative career.
