Sunshine Coast Fair Day rescheduled to March 2026

The Sunshine Coast Pride Network is excited to announce that their flagship Fair Day event has been rescheduled to Sunday, March 29 2026.

It will remain at the original location of Kings Beach Amphitheatre and be totally free to attend. The program will cater to all ages, with a seniors area, neuro-spicy activities space, circus activities, roving entertainment, drag queen-hosted silent disco and a bevvy of talent on the main stage (stay tuned for updates).

The date change comes after a suite of severe weather weekends hit Queensland throughout November. Whilst the postponement was a disappointing outcome to the hard working event team, the rest of the events featured on the 2025 Sunshine Coast Pride Festival program were largely unaffected.

Held 14-23 November, it was the longest Pride Festival the Sunshine Coast had ever seen, and the first time the community was invited to contribute events to its program. The final program featured activities from the bustling LGBTQIA+ community across the Sunshine Coast, including sports, drag bingo, creative writing, comedy and family picnics.

The relaunch of the SC Pride Festival put the popular tourist region back in the spotlight for LGBTQIA+ communities. Having not held its Pride Festival for the last six years, there was a growing need for visibility, inclusivity and diversity in the area.

Strong support from QC Health and the Sunshine Coast Council, alongside funding bodies Brisbane Pride, LGBTQIA+ Alliance, Pride Foundation Australia, Sunshine Coast Airport and the Queensland Government, provided solid partnerships for its revived year. Applications are now open for sponsorship enquiries on future events.

The Sunshine Coast Pride Festival is a celebration of LGBTQIA+ diversity, community and connection. Its mission is to foster a safe, inclusive and joyful space where LGBTQIA+ individuals, their families and allies can come together to honour and embrace the vibrant spectrum of identities and experiences that enrich our community.
