Medicare Mental Health Centres offer free access to lived experience peer workers who can provide specialised, compassionate, and understanding support during challenging times, together with a team of mental health clinicians.
No referral, appointment or Medicare card is needed for this free service.
Support is available in person, as well as via phone or video. We work with individuals to provide the right mental health support that lets them decide what they need on their recovery journey.
Medicare Mental Health Centres do not offer long-term support but provide immediate, short and medium-term care, and connect people to the most appropriate services for ongoing needs.
Medicare Mental Health Centres located in Sunshine Coast, Bundaberg, Gladstone, and Rockhampton are funded by Country to Coast, QLD, though the Australian Government’s PHN Program, and are led by Wellways in partnership with Clarity Health Care.
